An independent Kerala venture, bringing idle land back into cultivation
KrishiKeralam is a privately run platform operated by SG PR Infotech LLP from Kannur. We are not a government department or scheme, and we make no claim of official affiliation — we are a working venture that organises land, local farming teams and buyers around one shared record.
Our vision
A Kerala that eats what it grows. We want everyday vegetables, tubers, spices and medicinal plants on Kerala's tables to come from Kerala's own soil, grown organically, within a short drive of the kitchen that uses them.
Our mission
Put idle land, trained local hands and honest record-keeping together. We take a plot on lease, test its soil, agree a costed crop plan with the owner, hand the field work to an empanelled SHG unit in the same district, and record every stage with photos, GPS and harvest logs so the produce can be traced back to the exact parcel.
Why this exists
Land sitting idle
Across Kerala, plots stay uncultivated for years — owners live elsewhere, labour is hard to arrange, and nobody wants to manage a crop from a distance. The soil is fine. The organisation around it is missing.
Vegetables arriving by lorry
Meanwhile a large share of the vegetables sold in Kerala markets is trucked in from Tamil Nadu and Karnataka. That long haul means older produce, prices set outside the state, and no way for a shopper here to know how it was grown or what was sprayed on it.
The people are already here
Kudumbashree and other self-help groups in every panchayat already have the skill and the willingness to farm. What they lack is land they can use, a costed plan, and a buyer at the end of the season.
So we built the middle
KrishiKeralam is that missing middle: one place where a landowner lists a plot, a local team farms it organically to a written plan, every stage is recorded with photos and GPS, and the harvest is sold inside Kerala with a batch code anyone can look up.
How we work
Written down, not promised
Soil report, crop plan, task proof, harvest log — if it happened on the field it exists in the app.
Local hands first
Field work goes to empanelled SHG units in the same district, paid through the platform.
The owner keeps the land
Nothing is bought or transferred. A lease agreement with a fixed term, and the plot goes back as it came.
